The
first meeting began with a performance of the „Panopticum”
Theater. Performance was prepared on the basis of the story "Menasze
and Rachel" by director, Mieczysław Wojtas.
After
the performance Witold Dąbrowski told about "Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią"
and the project „Śladami Singera. Literacki przewodnik po Lubelszczyźnie”.
The
first “Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią “ was
held on 17 March 2009 in the Cultural Center in Goraj. Singer's debut
novel takes place in Goraj – it's „Satan in Goraj”. Today,
there is no longer the traces of the Jewish community.
Witold
Dąbrowski started the meeting an excerpt from the novel "Satan
in Goraj". Next
part of the meeting was devoted to the presentation of a website www.singer.teatrnn.pl.
Then, Witold Dabrowski presented the performance of " Once,
there was...""
The
second meeting of the "Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią"
took place on 18th March 2009 - in Cultural Center in Frampol. The
action of the stories: „Dummy Gimpel”; „Invisible”, „Hanka”,
„Couple”, „Story about three wishes”; „Man form Cracow”;
„Family little shoemakers” takes place in Framplol. The meeting
was similar to that which took place days earlier in Goraj.
Witold
Dabrowski began to read a fragment of a short story - it was a
fragment of "The Tales of three wishes" and then held a
presentation of website www.singer.teatrnn.pl.
The
last part of the meeting was the performance "Tajbełe and
demon".
A
third village on the route "Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią"
was Józefów biłgorajski. Meeting held on 25 March 2009 in the
Municipal Public Library, which is located in a former synagogue
building.
The
story „Old man” by Isaac Bashevis Singer takes place in this
town. Part of this short story was read at the beginning of the
meeting. Then,
after the presentation of the website www.singer.teatrnn.pl; Witold
Dabrowski played a performance "Tajbełe and the Demon"
The
discussion that has involved, concerned almost the whole of the work
of Singer, its cultural heritage significance for the Region of
Lublin, as well as the history of Józefów Biłgorajski.
The
fourth
"Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią"
held in the Public Library in Turobin. The meeting, held on 26 March
2009 took place in the Team Building Schools. Turobin is another
place on the route "Encounters", which left few traces of
the Jewish community.
Part
of story „Uxoricide” was read at the beginning of the meeting.
Then we showed www.singer.teatrnn.pl website.
The
meeting ended in the execution of the performance of Witold Dąbrowski
"Once there was..."

April 2009 year - "Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią"
reached the Janow Lubelski. The remains of the world described by
Isaac B. Singer's stories in "Beggar said so" and "Jentł,
a boy from Jeshiva" are almost invisible in the city.
The
meeting was held in Janowskim Culture Center and was organized in
cooperation with the Regional Museum in Janów.
At
the beginning Witold Dabrowski read a fragment of story "Jentł,
a boy from Jeshiva". Next part of the meeting was devoted to the
presentation of a web portal www.singer.teatrnn.pl.
The last part of the meeting was the performance "Tajbełe and
demon".
The
sixth "Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią" held in Tyszowce on
16 April 2009. Many residents came to the place of meeting, which was
Local Government Cultural Center.
Witold
Dabrowski, opened the meeting by reading a fragment of Issac Bashevis
Singer's short story "Last demon". Whole story was
presented at the end of meeting.
We
showed www.singer.teatrnn.pl portal also.
The
final, seventh place on the route "Wędrowne Spotkania z Opowieścią”
was Bychawa. The meeting, held on 17 April 2009 has been organized in
cooperation with the Public Library.
Bychawa
is one of the few places on the route "migratory Encounters",
in which there are remains of the Jewish cultural heritage. There is
a synagogue.
Witold
